Ybor City, with its vibrant nightlife, has always been a place where magic and mystery intertwine. But for one couple, it became the setting of an unforgettable beginning to their love story. It all started one fateful night in line at The Castle, Tampa’s legendary goth nightclub, and now they’re planning a future together as they celebrate their engagement.
A Chance Encounter
It was a typical bustling evening in Ybor City when Thien and Victoria first crossed paths. Both were waiting to get into The Castle, a gothic sanctuary known for its moody décor, industrial beats, and a crowd as eclectic as the music itself.
What began as lighthearted small talk quickly turned into a flirtation. By the time they reached the door and stepped into the club’s dark, moody interior—with its thumping basslines, and gothic chandeliers—it was clear to both that this wasn’t just a random encounter.
The Proposal
Fast forward 2.5 years, and Thein and Victoria’s bond had only grown stronger. From exploring Tampa’s hidden gems to traveling back and forth to Victoria’s college town in Boston, MA, their journey together had been filled with laughter, love, and discovery. With Victoria graduating this year, Thien had the next steps for the future in mind,
In an Orlando park, surrounded by the serene beauty of nature, Thien got down on one knee and reached for Victoria’s hand; the wrong one. Victoria smiled and giggled while correcting Thien and followed with a “Yes”.
A Wedding To Remember
As they prepare for their big day in May of 2025, Thien and Victoria are working towards blending their family wedding traditions into one. There will be Vietnamese decor, formal wear, food, and a tea ceremony as well as American aspects such as food, first dances, parent dances, a toast, and dancing into the night
